This third part of the blog is the commentary of the third verse of Ashtavakra Samhita. This blog would be a bit confusing but possess a very deep knowledge. The first verse said that "we are detached from the entire universe", then the second verse said that "the entire universe is in us" and now the third says, "the entire universe is not in us". The literal meaning is not to be understood here. Rather, the deep knowledge behind it is the glory of Ashtavakra Samhita.
The appearance of the universe is not at all denied in a self but the existence is. In Vedanta the appearance is seen as something which does not have its own identity and is Mithya. The experience of the universe and then the appearance of it is not denied but it is also said to be "not real", in its appearance. We, the infinite existent consciousness bliss are mistaking our own real nature for this world. The rope mistaken as a snake is a very famous example for this.We know the world by the little day-to-day stories of life with success, failure, emotions and what not, but the world is none other than Brahman, none other than us and we do not know that.
The psychology or the definition of the falsity in Vedanta is that which borrows its reality from something as false. Who looks rich, is rich but not rich. It's the credit card. That is the borrowed money which makes us look rich, act rich, buy rich, but in the end it is not rich and simply borrowed. Everything in the universe that is experienced has drawn its identity of being experienced, from the Brahman which is ultimately us. It borrows its identity from us. False is not non existent. There is a difference between existent, false, and non existent. It's like telling the truth, telling a lie and keeping silent. Mihtya cannot be called existing or even non-existing. It borrows its existence and then is experienced by us. The universe borrows its existence from the ground of existence which is us.
Things are dead in themselves, we breathe life into them. Then, either we chase them or run away from them.
Beyond comments. Let this knowledge share provide peace to us all. Om Ramakrishna Paramhamsaya namo namaha
